EA and DICE officially revealed Battlefield 6 on July 24, 2025, showcasing a cinematic trailer set in modern warfare with the private military corporation Pax Armata threatening global conflict. The trailer features heavily damaged landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge, alongside a return of four classic squad classes: Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Support.

The open beta is expected in early August 2025—possibly around August 4—featuring a hybrid weapons system that combines traditional class-locked loadouts with more flexible customization options.

Documentation leaks suggest a full release on October 10 or 11, 2025, with pre-order bonuses ending the day before. Battlefield 6 will offer both a Standard Edition and a digital-only Phantom Edition—priced approximately €30 more. Both will launch simultaneously, but neither offers early access.

As confirmed by EA, the game will launch before March 31, 2026 (end of their fiscal year), with industry consensus pointing to October or November 2025—consistent with previous Battlefield titles.

Battlefield 6 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and has already been tested through Battlefield Labs across all platforms.

This new entry removes the criticized 128-player matches and Specialists from Battlefield 2042 and reintroduces the core 4-class system (Assault, Support, Recon, Engineer) alongside 64-player battles and realistic destructible environments that react based on projectile caliber.

Battlefield Studios—made up of DICE, Ripple Effect, Motive, and Criterion—are jointly working on the multiplayer and campaign. The single-player story explores a modern conflict between NATO and Pax Armata, with mission locations confirmed in New York, Los Angeles, Egypt, Gibraltar, and Hollywood.
